New Baby

New BabyMy mother got German measles when she was 2 weeks pregnant   because of that I was deaf, only have 1 eye to see with. I was born on 3 July.  The doctor said that I was given 6 months to live.  My mother had me in her arms while the doctors said that I was busy   dying and very weak. I was a very sick baby for 22 months.

I had a heart operation when I was 22 months old.  From there I became stronger.  I went to boarding school at 2 half years old. I was 6 years old when I developed asthma.  I wasn’t allowed to eat a lot of things that has flour, sugar, egg.  I had to eat a special diet to stop the asthma getting worse.  It took me 2 years to get it over then I was allowed to eat normal food again.  I became diabetic type 1 when I was 20 years old just 2 months before turning 21.  My world just crashed down when I heard that I got diabetes as my sugar that time was 53!  One year later I got high blood pressure and cholesterol.  Five days before I turned 30, I almost died from hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), luckily I survived.  Two months later I discovered I had endometriosis and had an operation.  Then 17 months later I had 2nd endometriosis operation.  The doctor told me that I wouldn’t be able to have children of my own.  I was shocked.  The doctor said it’s for God to make the decisions.

One year later I got married and fell pregnant at the same time without my knowledge.  Almost 4 weeks later after Pretoria Deaf Camp we were shocked as we learnt that I was pregnant!  It was God’s blessings that HE gave us.  When I was 4 months pregnant, the doctor told me to have an amnio test (for Down’s syndrome).  I was terrified if there was something wrong with my baby.  Thankfully a lot of people prayed for us through the    miracle of God.  My husband and I prayed so hard.  The test came back negative, that I’ve a healthy baby boy!  At 7 months pregnancy I had a premature labour for 10 days! At 35 weeks pregnancy, my son Ryan, was born on 24 November 2006.  Ryan’s birth weight was 3,80kg.  He is a healthy baby, didn’t inherit diabetes from his mother.  He is a hearing child with no problems.  All the people over the world were praying for us the night before our son was born. Praise the Lord! Mostly I would like to thank my husband Matthew who supported me throughout my pregnancy.  Sadly I can’t have more children because of my health.  I was sterilised after our son was born.  He is a beautiful child that was given by God our Father.
