I'm reading Daily Devotions now and it's very true. Jealousy is a terrible thing.

Once I was jealous when I saw people who had more things and enjoyed themselves than I did. I am deaf. Other people could hear and use the phone and I couldn't. Others could enjoy watching movies while I struggle to understand them. My deafness kept me from getting certain jobs. Hearing people got those jobs. I became jealous. I started feeling bitter and alone. My hurts grew and grew.

Through the years, God had helped me. He has replaced my jealousy with peace. I look at people who are not Christians. They may have more money and better jobs but they do not have Jesus. Having Jesus as my Saviour is the greatest thing in the world. I am not jealous today. Thank God who takes away my jealousy and gives me peace.

When I read Bible every day when I find time, God helps me to be strong so I can serve Him. I know sometimes everything goes well and I am busy. Then something happens and I become discouraged. Sometimes I don't even have the strength to pray. But God is always there to encourage me like He encouraged Elijah.
