| Youth Roof Wetting Dinner
On 19 September 2004 the scrumptious meal of Chicken-a-la-King on bed of rice and hot vegetables, Greek Salad, French rolls, ice-cream with hot chocolate sauce were served by the Youth, the T'nT, wearing white shirts and jeans, with the musical entertainment in the background (Stanley (H) from the FPC sang with the guitar) at The House from 4 pm onwards. Very nice and entertaining although it was freezing cold outside, cold front with snow on the mountains from Cape Town along the coast to Gauteng! (too cold for September!!! - swimming season!!! - unheard of!!!) Nevertheless, the kids had a ball outside on the “jumping crocodile”.
The purpose of the ‘Roof Wetting Dinner' is to celebrate the occupation of the new premises at “The House”. In April 2004 The Fireplace Church bought a house across Colin Mann Primary School for the offices uses, Youth, Sunday School, prayer and leaders meetings, home cells, the Courses, etc. and also for the Deaf Community's once a month social and service. The extensions of phase one of three started soon after and were completed by the end of this year.
We give our praises and thanks to our good Lord for The House!
Baptism
Warren (H) (17), son of Ivor (D) & Nikki (HoH) Kleynhans, was baptised on 12 September 2004 by Calum Weir (H) & Robbie Grant (H), the T’nT (Teens and Twenties) leaders. Abe Vos (H), the elder of the Fireplace Church looked on.
Warren gave his life to the Lord when he was 3 years old.
Interpreters
We, on behalf of the FPC Deafies, would like to thank our adept interpreters, Eula (daughter of Wendy
Gouvea) & Warren, for their faithfulness and commitment in interpreting on Sundays for the past two years. Also to Val Sham (H) & Vanessa Vos (H) elder) who
supported when one of the main interpreters was
absent. God Bless you!
